Let's start at the beginning.

Hello there!

My name is Debbie, and I am the founder of Do Good Weddings.

I have always had a soft spot for weddings. The union of two people in the presence of their closest family and friends is such a significant moment in their lives.

It is a celebration that they have found someone they want to spend the rest of their lives with. It is the culmination of all the highs and lows that they have gone through to emerge stronger than before. It is a reminder of the love and support from others that tided them through difficult times. It is the leap of faith to start a new phase of their relationship together. It is a declaration to say "I've got you. We are in this together."

The Experience

It has been my joy and privilege to have helped many of my dearest friends on their wedding day. I have been the bridesmaid, coordinator, and even emcee. Through these experiences, I have seen the intricacies of planning and the nimbleness needed to adapt at a moment's notice.

A few years ago, I got to play a new role - the bride, and I saw another perspective. The moving pieces of such a huge task. The anxiety of balancing work and wedding planning. The pressure of managing expectations. The frustration of miscommunication. The stress is very real!

And above all, I know the feeling of wanting nothing more than to enjoy myself and not worry about anything on my wedding day!

The Do Good Concept

And so the idea of DGW came to me in early 2016. It combines my passion for organising events and experience in event management to pay it forward by blessing couples on their special day. It remains a passion project up to today.

DGW provides wedding coordination services at a fraction of the fees found on the market, without compromising on professionalism or personalisation.

In addition, DGW donates half of its fees towards a charity of the couple’s choice, and furthers your giving footprint by recommending social enterprises that empower various communities while meeting your wedding needs. That is our pledge to do good for the community.

The journey so far...

DGW has helped many couples tie the knot and supported charities in areas such as:

  • Anti-human trafficking

  • Empowering women with unsupported pregnancies,

  • Raising awareness and removing the stigma of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia

  • Sponsoring football programmes for children from low income families

  • Sustaining animal shelters

  • Building homes for the homeless

  • Community programmes for low income families

As you embark together on this new chapter of your lives as husband and wife, will you join us in giving back to the community? We certainly hope you will!
